Commercial Work

Parliament House, Brisbane

December, 2013

Queensland Parliament House was built in 1868, and has been beautifully restored to showcase Queensland’s history, as shaped by the governments and laws that have been made in the Parliament.

The works completed at Parliament House on George St, in Brisbane’s CBD – Queensland’s first and foremost public building, with the retention of heritage materials, was a challenging project for us but through on-site coordination and assessment, we delivered a wonderful end product.

Keen Concreting was awarded the structural concrete works contract by the Queensland government to upgrade and extend the cement foundations.

Scope of works on this project included but was not limited to:

  • Extension of building
  • Pedestrian access footpaths
  • Upgrades to previous works

Other aspects of the project included working within a tight construction program, access constraints, working within a planned systems to deliver a specific outcome and adapting our program to accommodate weather patterns.
